The approach followed at Dr. A’s Clinic stresses
on the artistic merit of the hair transplant. The
transplanted hair must look natural. A dense look
in such a natural looking transplant has to take into
consideration the following factors.
1. The donor hair availability
and the extent of hair loss. (The more the donor hair

hair, the more the number of grafts can be packed). 2. The lesser the extent of hair
loss, the more densely the available grafts can be placed.
A lot about how densely the grafts be placed to get optimum
results will also depend on the hair characteristics. ( hair
curl, hair shaft diameter etc.)
Coarse, curly hair require less grafts to create a fuller
appearance than fine, straight hair.

3. The skin hair color
contrast (the higher the skin hair color contrast,
the more grafts will be required to give coverage). 4. The area of hair loss.
The hairline, temples & the crown whorl require
mostly 1 hair FU's. The number of grafts per sq.cm
in these areas would, therefore be higher than in
other areas.
If
in a person the nature has given 100 FU's per
sq.cm in his non balding scalp then it would be
wise to aim to replace 50 - 60% of that many grafts
in the balding areas to give an appearance of
fullness. We at Dr. A’s is a variable term
and would differ from patient to patient depending
on the above mentioned factors.
We have therefore, devised a “Do
it yourself “ grafts estimation method
for the prospective patients. By following the
simple step of this method a person can assess
the optimum grafts requirement in his own case.
